 | Streak Finally Over, Kawai Held Hitless Wednesday, May 28th, 2014 Masamune Kawai's 20-game hitting streak was snapped today at Sea Hawks Stadium. The 26-year-old Buffaloes third baseman failed to get a hit in 4 at-bats in the game with the Chiba Lotte Marines, but ORIX came out the winner, topping them 5-4. One of his teammates told BNN, "The streak was no big deal to Masamune. He ain't that type of guy. He just wants to help the team win ballgames. That's the bottom line." In the current season, Kawai has put up a .473 batting average with 53 hits, no home runs, 8 runs batted in and scored 28 runs. |   |
