 | 5-6 Day for Bourgoin Thursday, April 23rd, 2015 Claude Bourgoin told the press after his 5-hit day, "Every batter wants to have a quality at-bat every time he steps up to the plate. He wants to hit the ball hard." Well, that's just what Bourgoin of the Montreal Royales did against the London Monarchs. He went to the plate 6 times and 5 times he delivered base hits, much to the chagrin of the Monarchs, who suffered a 38-8 defeat. "Not much that I can say," offered the losing manager, "he just hammered the heck out of us." Claude Bourgoin walked in the 1st, hit a three-run home run off Tom Lind in the 2nd, hit an RBI double in the 4th, hit a two-run single in the 5th, walked in a run in the 6th, walked in the 7th, doubled in the 8th, hit a solo-shot off Jeremy Sheffield in the 8th and struck out in the 9th. So far this year, Bourgoin is batting .266 with 5 home runs and 13 RBIs. |   |
