 | Medina Goes Hitless, Streak Stopped at 22 Thursday, July 2nd, 2015 Maybe it really is taboo to talk about a hitting streak before it's over. Hours after speaking to the press about his 22-game hitting streak, Kingwood first baseman José Medina went hitless in 2 at-bats today in the Knights 1-0 win over Bel Air at Stable Park.
In a postgame interview, he said, "Nope, not superstitious. Streaks don't last forever. Nobody jinxed me. I've heard about it every day for weeks now. My roomie told me to get a hit before every game and wished me luck. I just ran out of hits."
His manager said, "It's not like we could go 22 games without talking to him."
For the year Medina is batting .329 with 93 hits and 13 home runs. He has scored 45 times and driven in 47. | |
