 | San Angelo Hill Gets the Cycle Saturday, September 6th, 2014 "To hit for the cycle" is one of the rarest of feats in a baseball game. This occurs when a player hits a single, double, triple and home run in the same game, getting every type of hit possible. Charles Hill grabbed a piece of baseball history today when he hit for the cycle. Hill went 4 for 4 with 2 RBI and 3 runs scored against St. Paul, leading the San Angelo Mustangs to a 8-2 win at Saints Ballpark.
"I felt comfortable at the plate in a way I haven't felt all season," Hill said after the game. "It was like they were throwing beach balls at me. The ball seemed that big to me. And it just floated in."
Charles Hill tripled in the 2nd, was hit by a pitch in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, doubled in the 8th and hit a two-run home run off Allen Hebert in the 9th.
This year Hill has hit at a .248 clip with 112 hits, 15 home runs, 60 RBIs and 62 runs scored. | |
