 | Phoenix Starter Wins August's Pitcher Award Tuesday, September 1st, 2015 Leonard Veeck hasn't been around the big leagues long enough to know that youngsters shouldn't be winning Ford Frick League Pitcher of the Month. But when you put up numbers like his, you're going to get some notice. In August the Phoenix starter earned a 4-0 mark in 5 starts. He threw 31.2 innings, struck out 35 and compiled a solid 1.99 ERA. Veeck has gone 14-4 this season with an ERA of 3.29 and 123 strikeouts in 139.1 innings pitched. Other clubs are hitting .253 against him. |   |
