 | Spartans Pitching Ravaged by Samurakami Monday, August 17th, 2015 "It was like I was hitting little league pitching again," said Kazutoshi Samurakami after his 5-hit performanace against the Spartans. "No offense meant to Sandy Springs, but I could see the ball that well. But this wasn't a kid league park, it was William Spade Park. I'm just not too happy that we lost 13-5."
The Murfreesboro second baseman had a fantastic day at the plate, knocking out 5 hits in 5 at-bats.
His manager elaborated after the game to the press, saying, "Kazutoshi worked the entire offseason on trying to shorten his swing and stay inside the ball and the hard work is paying off in base hits."
"That's what I'm trying to do," Samurakami said. "Be quick to the ball and let it travel a little farther so I get a better look at it. It sure did work today."
Kazutoshi Samurakami singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, tripled in the 5th, singled in the 6th and doubled in the 9th.
This year Samurakami is batting .274 with 2 home runs. He has scored 19 runs and driven in 8. | |
