 | Career Finished, Boyd Suffers Setback in Rehab Thursday, September 10th, 2015 The Joplin newspaper reported today that Fireballs starting pitcher Chet Boyd has decided to retire from baseball due to a serious setback while recovering from a ruptured finger tendon. "I'm disappointed," Boyd told BNN. "My worst fear is a reality and I won't be coming back to the game." This season Boyd has compiled a 8-1 mark, 5.20 ERA and made 18 starts. |   |
