 | Shaffer on Fire, Named Player of the Week Monday, August 31st, 2015 At the age of 29, Tommy Shaffer might have some potential he hasn't realized yet -- if his success at the plate last week is any indication. The St. John center fielder put up some exceptional numbers the past seven days with a .348 batting average. For his efforts Shaffer collected the Kade Stenson League Player of the Week Award. He racked up 8 hits in 23 at-bats, 4 home runs and 12 RBIs last week in 7 games. This season in 59 games Shaffer is batting .271 with 16 home runs, 43 RBIs and has scored 42 times. |   |
