 | Albuquerque Hopeless Against Ward Sunday, July 6th, 2014 In an almost effortless performance, Joe Ward of the Aeropostales shot down the Cacti 9-0 on a 2-hit shutout. His skipper said, "Joe was just locating so well and using his pitches... not leaving anything over the plate." Ward recorded 6 strikeouts and 1 walk in a strong outing. In the postgame press conference, the Albuquerque manager said, "When he needed to make pitches, he elevated his game like he can and we couldn't get a key hit off him." This year Ward has earned no saves, worked 62.1 innings, fanned 35 hitters and recorded a 4.19 ERA. He has also put up a 6-3 won-lost mark. |   |
