 | Arnold Earns RCL Top Pitcher Trophy Wednesday, August 1st, 2012 Lyle Arnold has been around the league long enough to know that relievers are often overlooked. That has never stopped him from doing what he does best -- and he did it extremely well in July and stole away with the Roberto Clemente League Pitcher of the Month award. The Mafia bullpen ace collected 7 saves and 20 strikeouts in 15 innings, holding the opposition to a .140 average and posting a 0.60 ERA and a 3-0 record. This season Arnold has 21 saves. In 44 relief appearances he has tossed 53 innings, struck out 61 and issued 8 walks with a 6-4 record. The New York reliever has recorded a 2.38 ERA and allowed the opposition to hit .211 when he is in the game. |   |
