San Diego Starting Pitcher Out
Tuesday, May 8th, 2012
The San Diego Tomcats will lose the services of starting pitcher Elvis Sharp after he sustained a torn rotator cuff while throwing a pitch in today's game against the Minnesota Berserkers. "I'll get through it," Sharp said. "The key now is to stay positive." His trainer said he is expected to be sidelined for 4-5 months.

This season-to-date, Sharp has fashioned a 2-1 mark and 5.45 ERA in 39.2 innings. Opposing clubs are batting .271 against him and he has logged 34 strikeouts.
