 | RCL's Top Hitter Selected Thursday, October 1st, 2015 To survive in the bigs, you've got to be a scrapper like Miguel Angel Ortíz. It never pays to take a day off from the batting cages or to shrug off the advice of the hitting coach. It all paid off today as San Diego's first baseman pinned down the Roberto Clemente League Batter of the Month trophy today. He hit .389 in September collecting 14 home runs, 36 RBIs and 25 runs scored. This season Ortíz is batting .360 with 208 hits, 42 home runs, 125 RBIs, 64 walks, .424 OBP and has scored 99 runs.
