 | Player of the Week: Kansas City's Marquis Monday, August 10th, 2015 Few players his age are still in the league, but Ricardo Marquis of the Kansas City Tornadoes clearly loves the game and clearly he can still get the job done. Last week the 35-year-old designated hitter hit the ball with the consistency of someone ten years younger, which made Marquis a popular and well-deserved selection as Thurman Munson League Player of the Week.
He paced the Tornadoes attack by putting up a .458 batting average, 11 hits in 24 at-bats, 4 RBIs and 1 home run. Marquis also scored 9 runs.
For the year Marquis has hit at a .304 clip with 40 RBIs, 11 home runs and 64 runs scored. | |
