 | Hit Parade: Cheslin Pops 5 Hits Saturday, July 18th, 2015 It doesn't happen very often, but it happened for Stan Cheslin -- a 5-hit day. He went on a rampage and really shined on the diamond at The Royal Court at Jersey Yards, but the performance lost a little glitter when the Jesters were downed 13-11 by the San Francisco Earthquakes.
After his sparkling batting performance the Jersey right fielder told the press, "I just tried to get myself in a good count and have a good at-bat. That's all I can control." His batting theory paid some great dividends today. He slammed 5 hits in 6 tries and put his name in the record book. "I just wish we had added a win in the record book today, too."
Stan Cheslin hit a two-run home run off Juan Fernández in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, hit an RBI triple in the 4th, singled in the 6th, doubled in the 7th and struck out in the 9th.
In the current season, Cheslin has put up a .302 batting average with 103 hits, 16 home runs, 60 RBI and scored 51 runs. | |
