 | Whitney Extends Hit Streak to 20 Games Monday, September 29th, 2014 Long hitting streaks don't happen very often and when they happen it perks up everybody's interest. No one knows how long it will go -- it could end tomorrow -- but baseball fans and Leslie Whitney are enjoying the moment right now. The 23-year-old Nottinghamshire center fielder extended his string to 20 consecutive games in Trent Bridge today. Whitney got 1 hit, but the Ann Arbor Barn Owls got the victory. They toppled the Outlaws 10-3. Leslie Whitney grounded out in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, flied out in the 5th and flied out in the 7th. For the year Whitney is batting .358 with 204 hits and 10 home runs. He has scored 126 times and driven in 98. |   |
