Gordon Thornton Shelved by Injury Saturday, August 23rd, 2014 The Las Vegas Jokers were dealt a severe blow when Gordon Thornton was hurt running the bases recently in a game against the So Cal Republic. After the game, the team trainer reported Thornton might have to spend a lengthy time on the disabled list. Today doctors confirmed it, ruling the 32-year-old center fielder out for the rest of the season with a ruptured medial collateral ligament. They indicated it would take Thornton at least 9 months to heal.
In 52 games this season Thornton is batting .332 with 67 hits and 12 home runs. He has scored 52 runs and driven in 35. |   |
