 | Anthony Atkinson Out for 7 Months Sunday, August 10th, 2014 The Eureka Hornets were dealt a severe blow when Anthony Atkinson was hurt throwing a pitch recently in a game against the Jersey Jesters. After the game, the team trainer reported Atkinson might have to spend a lengthy time on the disabled list. Today doctors confirmed it, ruling the 20-year-old starting pitcher out for the rest of the season with shoulder inflammation. They indicated it would take Atkinson at least 7 months to heal. This year Atkinson has fashioned a 9-8 mark, 4.23 ERA and pitched 117 innings. Opposing clubs are batting .268 against him and he has logged 75 strikeouts. |   |
