 | Outlaws Chill Herman's Hot Streak Saturday, August 9th, 2014 It was the best of both worlds for the Nottinghamshire Outlaws today at Don Corleone Park as they defeated the New York Mafia 2-1 and also ended Joe Herman's 24-game hitting streak. The 25-year-old New York center fielder failed to get a hit in 4 at-bats. "Nothing personal against Joe, we just wanted to win the game," said the victorious Outlaws skipper. "We did a great job keeping him off balance and guessing." When asked by reporters about his streak coming to an end, Herman frowned and said, "I won't lie and say that I'm not disappointed about my streak ending, but I would feel much better about things if we had won the game." Herman is batting at a .314 pace this season, picking up 117 hits in 373 at-bats with 11 home runs, 72 RBIs and 67 runs scored. |   |
