Gordon Thornton Hurt, Out of Action
Sunday, June 29th, 2014
The Las Vegas Jokers learned that Gordon Thornton is likely to be out for 4-5 weeks after he injured himself throwing the ball in today's game against the Eureka Hornets. A round of tests by the team doctor revealed the injury to be a herniated disc. Upon hearing the diagnosis, the Las Vegas manager told the press, "As you all know, we can't control injuries -- they are a part of the game. We just have to do the best we can until Gordon is back in action."

Hitting .333 to date, Thornton has 7 home runs and 22 RBIs. He has played in 31 games.
