 | BP Proves Dangerous for Ruíz Sunday, September 8th, 2013 Mile High starting pitcher Manuel Ruíz was taken to a local hospital earlier this evening when he was struck in the temple by a wayward pitch during batting practice. Ruíz, who managed to remain on his feet after the impact, complained of a headache and double-vision moments later. "He pretty well got his clock cleaned," said teammate Randy Gibson, who witnessed the incident. Ruíz had a bruise on his cheekbone and complained of some blurred vision, but a CAT-scan revealed no evidence of a concussion or other injuries. However, manager Anastasio Rosário said Ruíz would be held out of the lineup for the Mustangs next few games as a precaution. | |
