 | Hanshin Bids Farewell to Manager Turner

All is not well in Hanshin. Nathan Turner's tenure as the Tigers skipper might end up being remembered more for a memorable exit than for anything he accomplished on the baseball diamond. Turner was fired as the manager of the Hanshin Tigers today and didn't take the news particularly well. Upon hearing of his termination, Turner immediately went to the owner's office, where he laid into the Tigers major decision-maker with an expletive-filled tirade behind closed doors. "He called me pretty much every name in the book. It wasn't pretty," said the Hanshin owner. "I'd say Nathan was simply reacting in the heat of the moment. Overall though, I would have preferred a classier exit." After his verbal ambush of the team owner, Turner stormed out of the stadium and was not immediately available for comment. Club officials have scheduled a meeting tomorrow to appoint an interim manager and begin the search for #672>'s replacemant. |   |
