"I stayed ahead of batters," he said after the game, "and was able to get a lot of quick outs. My defense deserves a lot of credit too. They had to be on their toes and they saved me several times." The 27-year-old starter rung up 10 strikeouts and 4 walks in whipping the Bay Stars.
