 | Smith Wins AHL's Best Bat Award Wednesday, August 1st, 2012 Dexter Smith is not used to being associated with Batter of the Month-caliber players, but today the Bel Air second baseman joined that select company when the August Herrman League announced the results of July's voting. Smith totaled 23 hits, 10 walks, 4 home runs, 14 RBIs and 15 runs scored last month to put together a .426 batting average and .537 on-base percentage. To date this season Smith is hitting .262 with 11 home runs. |   |
