 | Sonnino Fires Shutout in Penzance Win Thursday, July 19th, 2012 The Cherry Hill Stealers struggled at the plate today against Pirates hurler Domeneco Sonnino, who shackled them on 3 hits while hurling a complete game 11-0 shutout. "What can you say? We didn't hit well," said the Stealers skipper in his postgame comments. "Hopefully we shake this off and bounce back tomorrow." Sonnino finished the game with 4 strikeouts and no walks in an excellent mound performance. "He pitched real well," his manager said. "Domeneco made pitches when he had to. He hit his spots and did a great job of mixing in his changeup and using his fastball effectively." In season stats Sonnino shows a 5-6 record in 17 games, 105.2 innings, 66 strikeouts and a 2.47 ERA. |   |
