Career Over for Mota, Major Injury

Kingwood center fielder Francisco Mota has suffered a torn labrum according to team doctors and will have to retire from baseball at the age of 19. The career-ending injury occurred in yesterday's Knights-Mustangs game at Stable Park. Mota was injured making a defensive play and had to be taken to the hospital. Tests revealed the severity of his injury.

This season Mota is batting .124 with 17 hits, 2 home runs, 9 RBIs, 12 walks, .209 OBP and has scored 11 runs. He has played in 37 games.
