Injury Ends Career of Chris Wood
Tuesday, May 22nd, 2012
Teammates rushed to the side of Sandy Springs center fielder Chris Wood, when he was hurt in the Sandy Springs-San Antonio game yesterday at The Coliseum. They were right to be concerned about Wood -- he had suffered a concussion colliding with a player at a base. This type of injury, most likely, not only ends the season for Wood, but also his career.

This year Wood has socked 44 hits in 144 at-bats for a .306 average with 1 home run. He is getting on base at a .383 pace and his totals also include 11 RBIs and 16 runs scored.
