 | Yamashita Comeback Not Possible, Injury Too Severe Sunday, October 5th, 2014 A tearful Tetsuya Yamashita stood with Silicon Valley Hackers officials and teammates as he announced that his baseball career was over. The 20-year-old starting pitcher was recovering from a sore shoulder, but the injury recently became worse and doctors recommended that he retire from the game. "It's really hard to leave because I love to play baseball," Yamashita explained to reporters. "I'll miss playing baseball and living out my childhood dream, but I'll always cherish the memories I have. Despite this bad break, life has been good to me."
His record for the year is 3-4 in 12 starts and Yamashita has a 4.55 ERA. | |
