 | Lights Callahan August's Top Hurler Monday, September 1st, 2014 Elvis Callahan hasn't been around the big leagues long enough to know that youngsters shouldn't be winning Ford Frick League Pitcher of the Month. But when you put up numbers like his, you're going to get some notice. In August the Phoenix starter earned a 5-0 mark in 5 starts. He threw 34.2 innings, struck out 45 and compiled a solid 2.08 ERA. This year Callahan has a 14-4 mark in 20 starts with a 2.37 ERA. He has given up 103 hits in 140.1 innings, struck out 172 and issued 42 walks. Opposing clubs have compiled a .202 batting average against him. |   |
