 | Peters Stretches Hit String to 20 Saturday, August 9th, 2014 Newark second baseman Ken Peters keeps on racking up hits in every game he plays in. His hitting streak now stands at 20 games after collecting 4 hits in today's game. "I have been seeing the ball really good the last few weeks, but I am a bit surprised how things are working out. I've gotten a couple flares to drop in, so I've been a little lucky," said Peters after the Jail Birds 5-4 victory over the Gamblers. Ken Peters singled in the 1st, hit a two-run single in the 3rd, flied out in the 5th, singled in the 7th, walked in the 9th and singled in the 11th. For the year Peters has hit at a .294 clip with 48 RBIs, 6 home runs and 52 runs scored. |   |
