 | Whitecaps-Rats Fight Nets 3-Game Suspensions Sunday, May 11th, 2014 When fights happen, suspensions are not far behind. That axiom was held to be true today when Grand Haven's Loan Picard and Rock River's Andy Green were given a temporary vacation from the game, courtesy of the league commissioner's office.
They both were suspended for 3 games for their actions in a recent ruckus between the two teams. Both benches cleared when Picard charged Green.
Both players have accepted their fate and will begin serving their suspensions immediately. Neither would talk to reporters about the confrontation.
To date, Picard has collected 25 hits for a .275 average. He has posted 2 home runs, scored 12 runs and driven in 12 runs.
This year Green has posted a record of 1 win and 2 losses with a 4.10 ERA. He has appeared in 7 games and struck out 35 in 37.1 innings. | |
