 | Lights Pugh Smacks 5 Hits Saturday, May 3rd, 2014 Gerald Pugh told the press after his 5-hit day, "Every batter wants to have a quality at-bat every time he steps up to the plate. He wants to hit the ball hard." Well, that's just what Pugh of the Phoenix Lights did against the Spokane Bulldogs. He went to the plate 5 times and 5 times he delivered base hits, But his club still suffered a 9-8 defeat. "Not much I can say," offered Pugh in the postgame press conference. "I got a bunch of hits, but it would have been much better to get a win. Can I trade 5 hits for the win?" Gerald Pugh singled in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit an RBI double in the 6th and singled in the 8th. In the current season, Pugh has put up a .329 batting average with 28 hits, no home runs, 19 RBI and scored 21 runs. |   |
