 | Juárez Goes Hitless, Streak Stopped at 25 Tuesday, May 6th, 2014 Argonauts first baseman Juan Juárez went 0-for-3 today in Astoria's 2-1 triumph over the Reno Raiders, snapping his 25-game hitting streak.
Juárez spoke to BNN after the game and said, "I knew the hitting streak would end sooner or later. I just would have preferred later."
When he made an out in his last chance at bat, his teammates congratulated him in the dugout.
The Raiders manager shrugged off the streak. "There's nothing scientific about it, that's for sure," he said. "He had a nice little run. Let him start another one when we finish the series here."
So far this season, Juárez has recorded a .444 batting average with 44 hits, 6 home runs, 19 RBIs, 24 runs scored and a .526 OBP. | |
