 | Greenville 84's, Earthquakes Agree to Trade Friday, July 6th, 2012 It won't turn either team into an instant contender or provide a huge franchise shakeup, but the Greenville 84's and San Francisco Earthquakes finalized a trade today. Greenville will send 26-year-old first baseman Kieran Simmons and 35-year-old right fielder William Kirby to the Earthquakes, while the 84's will receive 16-year-old minor league shortstop Tomás Gonzáles and 17-year-old minor league closer Carlos Moya. "We think this is a deal that will help out both teams and we're glad to get it done," said the 84's general manager). The trade is expected to be officially completed later today with the players to join their new ball clubs by the end of the day. This year Simmons is batting .330 with 22 home runs.
