 | Pitcher of the Month Named in RCL Friday, August 1st, 2014 At Joe Lowry's age, not many pitchers can still get the job done. But he can still throw the ball. The 41-year-old reliever for Montreal was selected the Roberto Clemente League Pitcher of the Month for July earlier today -- not only satisfying himself, but silencing critics who said he has lost too much to compete at this level. The old man definitely still has it, making 17 relief appearances and throwing 21.1 innings as he chalked up no saves, 27 strikeouts, and a fine 1.69 ERA and a 4-0 mark. For the year Lowry has collected 11 saves in 53 relief appearances. He has also notched 79 strikeouts and 20 walks in 60.1 innings while registering a 3.73 ERA and a 5-4 won-lost record. |   |
