 | Bryant 5-6 for Outlaws Monday, June 23rd, 2014 On top of the Nottinghamshire hit parade today was Byron Bryant. He went to the plate 6 times and tagged 5 hits, but it was Washington that marched off with the 10-9 win. He certainly had their number at the plate in this record-making 5-6 performance, however the Capitalists marked it up in the victory column. The sweet swinging catcher told reporters, "Each time I went to the plate, I was thinking about hitting the ball hard somewhere. When I focus on that, I usually have quality at-bats." The skipper of the Outlaws griped to the press, "As a team, we just didn't do it with the bats and the pitching today. That's why we lost." Byron Bryant walked in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, hit a two-run home run off Jason Elliott in the 5th, flied out in the 7th, hit an RBI double in the 8th, singled in the 9th and singled in the 11th. Presently Bryant is batting .328 with 20 home runs and 77 RBIs. He has played in 70 games and scored 44 times. |   |
