 | Republic-Toreros Trade: Black for López Friday, February 28th, 2014 So Cal and Cabo San Lucas have agreed in principle to a trade. The Republic will send 27-year-old reliever Kevin Black, 28-year-old reliever Chip Wolfe and 17-year-old minor league closer Reynaldo Cardona to the Toreros for 33-year-old starting pitcher Pepe López, 24-year-old minor league reliever José Pacheco, 18-year-old minor league closer Nobuhisa Sumita and 18-year-old minor league reliever Yoshida Nakao. The deal is expected to be finalized shortly and the clubs will be introducing their new players to the press when the paperwork is complete. Black has a 15-13 won-lost record over his career with a 4.89 ERA. In 69 games he has recorded no saves and the 27-year-old has 193 strikeouts in 298 innings of work. In his career stats, López has won 11 and lost 6, collecting 103 strikeouts and 68 walks in 165 innings with a 4.20 ERA. Opponents have hit .258 against him. |   |
