 | Setback For Hornets and Gary McLernon Friday, November 8th, 2013 Gary McLernon was taking it slow and easy, nursing torn ankle ligaments back to good health, when he suffered a setback. According to a Eureka team official, "Gary was making excellent progress and it appeared he would return to the squad ahead of schedule. But then he reinjured it in a light workout." Club doctors now say the 36-year-old Hornets second baseman would be out at least another 4 weeks. McLernon has chalked up a career batting average of .264 with 285 hits, 30 homers and 131 RBIs. |   |
