 | League Suspends Bowman Thursday, July 18th, 2013 Georgia's Sean Bowman made contact with the home plate umpire during a dispute in the game with the Texans yesterday and he will have to pay for it. Bowman violently disagreed when he was called out on strikes. During the intense discussion he bumped chests with the umpire and was immediately tossed out of the game. Today the league commissioner gave him a 7-game suspension. Still steamed by it, Bowman told BNN, "I think the ump bumped me and he is the one who should be suspended. I'm going to appeal this sucker." For the season Bowman has produced 69 hits in 279 at-bats for a .247 average with 8 home runs and gotten on base at a .303 clip. |   |
