Wednesday, October 31st, 2012: The Chunichi clubhouse staff referred to him as "the kid" this season. Next year Kazuhiko Kanno will have to have a new nickname. He earned it after winning the 2012 Central League Cy Young Award.
Kanno made 27 starts this year, winning 21 and losing 5. He threw 203 innings, fanned 247, allowed 174 hits and 25 walks, while holding opposing teams to a .227 average as he logged an impressive 3.46 ERA.
