 | Kato Wins PL Top Pitcher Honors Monday, October 1st, 2012: There's something about a young rookie winning the Pacific League Pitcher of the Month trophy that sends shock waves through the league. Such is the case with Tadasuke Kato, a 20-year-old starter for the ORIX Buffaloes. In September, he topped off the month with a 4-1 mark and 3.28 ERA in 5 starts, tossed 35.2 innings, fanned 29 and held opposing teams to a .239 average. Kato has gone 12-7 this season with an ERA of 4.72 and 147 strikeouts in 154.1 innings pitched. Other clubs are hitting .269 against him. |   |
