 | Great Week for Yomiuri's Seitaro Uenohara Monday, October 1st, 2012: 22-year-old Seitaro Uenohara made a few Yomiuri headlines during this past week as the rookie catcher proved he could compete at the plate with his high-school idols. He captured the attention of fans, journalists and Central League officials last week and today took home Player of the Week honors for his effort. He cracked 4 hits in 8 at-bats to put up a .500 average. Uenohara collected 2 home runs, 5 RBIs and scored 2 runs. This year Uenohara has socked 87 hits in 277 at-bats for a .314 average with 16 home runs. He is getting on base at a .416 pace and his totals also include 58 RBIs and 48 runs scored. |   |
