 | Central League Names Top Player Monday, July 30th, 2012: A hot-hitting week got Ichiro Fukuda the Central League Player of the Week trophy. He really wore out his welcome with league pitchers. The Yokohama left fielder slammed them for a .588 average, 10 hits in 17 at-bats, 3 home runs, 9 RBIs and scored 6 runs. In the postgame press conference, Fukuda shared his hitting philosophy with the BNN scribes: "Just look for the seams and hit between them... nothin' more than that." This season Fukuda is swinging the bat at a .291 pace. He has hit 10 home runs and scored 31 times, while driving in 39. His on-base percentage is .361 and he has played in 59 games. |   |
