Monday, July 9th, 2012: It can be difficult for a young player to step out of the shadows and assert himself in the Pacific League, but last week Hiroya Aoki of the Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks reminded everyone just why he's here as he threw up numbers that made him an easy selection for Player of the Week. Aoki rocked opposing pitching for a .467 average (7-15), 2 home runs and 4 RBIs to come away with the award.
Presently Aoki is batting .309 with 30 hits and 4 home runs. He has knocked in 12 runs and scored 16 times.
