 | Yomiuri Worried Nomura Won't Play Again Sunday, June 24th, 2012: There was sad news in the baseball world today when it was announced that the career of Yomiuri right fielder Toshiro Nomura was suddenly ended by a torn labrum. He was hurt making a defensive play during a game against the Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks. The crowd at Ballpark of Aomori College feared the worst when Nomura had to be carried off the field in a stretcher to the team training room. Nomura was taken to the hospital for tests after the game. Team doctors confirmed the diagnosis and said his career was over.
This season Nomura has hit at a .343 clip with 38 RBIs, 11 home runs and 31 runs scored. He has played in 41 games. |   |
