Monday, April 30th, 2012: Koryusai Nishimura had to leave the Fighters game against Saitama Seibu after suffering a torn flexor tendon in his elbow while throwing a pitch. He will be out of the lineup at least 13 months. He told reporters, "I just felt a sharp pain when it happened. I knew there was something wrong."
For the season Nishimura has made 8 relief appearances, recorded no saves and compiled a 1-0 won-lost mark and a 4.35 ERA. In pitching 10.1 innings, he has totaled 4 strikeouts and 3 walks.
