Saturday, April 21st, 2012: Fukuoka SoftBank fans held their breath as Eiichi Sugano left yesterday's Golden Eagles-Hawks contest with an injury. After the game, the team's medical staff said that the 16-year-old reliever had suffered a torn back muscle while throwing a pitch. It's estimated that he will be out 4 months.
This season Sugano has picked up no saves and posted a 0-0 record with a 4.91 ERA. He has 5 relief appearances, tossed 7.1 innings and struck out 10.
