 | PL's Top Hitter Announced Thursday, August 1st, 2013: Tashiaki Tanaka, the Tohoku Rakuten Golden Eagles first baseman, certainly made his name known to Pacific League hurlers over the last month. He consistently introduced himself with hit after hit and came away with July's Pacific League Batter of the Month award. He slashed and bashed his way to a .500 batting average while tallying up 6 home runs, 19 RBIs and 16 runs scored. He also worked PL pitchers for 19 walks and a .655 on-base percentage. This year Tanaka is hitting .394 with 20 home runs and 66 RBIs to his credit. He has gotten on base at a .554 clip and scored 67 runs. |   |
