 | PL Player of the Week Named Monday, July 15th, 2013: In the twilight of his career, 36-year-old Makoto Watanabe of Fukuoka SoftBank recaptured some of the old magic last week and came away with the Pacific League Player of the Week Award. "I've been playing since I was a kid," Watanabe told reporters, "but you're never too old to feel the thrill of success." Watanabe outpaced the rest of the league's hitters last week, reeling off 15 hits in 18 at-bats, 3 home runs, and 9 RBIs to stake his claim to the award. This season Watanabe is batting .384 with 67 RBIs, 50 runs scored and 25 home runs. |   |
