 | Kumagai Selected CL Player of the Week Monday, July 1st, 2013: When it came to hitting the baseball, Naruhiko Kumagai was in a class by himself in the Central League this past week. Nobody did it better. The outstanding center fielder for Yokohama tagged opposing pitchers for a .727 average and was voted the Player of the Week Award. Included in his stats were 8 hits in 11 at-bats, 2 homers, 6 runs scored and 6 RBIs. For the season Kumagai is currently batting .385 with 20 home runs and 53 RBIs. In 44 games he has reached base at a .512 rate and scored 49 runs to date. |   |
