Sunday, June 16th, 2013: The Swallows will be minus Tokuma Suzuki for about 6-7 months after the starting pitcher suffered radial nerve compression while throwing a pitch in a recent game against Chiba Lotte. Suzuki and the Tokyo Yakult skipper were hoping further examination might show there was less damage than originally thought and he would be absent a shorter duration.
On his stats sheet for the year Suzuki shows a 1-6 record, 9 starts, 35.1 innings, 31 strikeouts and a 12.99 ERA.
